Amarilys “Amy” Castro, PIAM
Amy Castro has over 27 years of experience in the insurance industry. Her experience encompasses personal and commercial lines of insurance. She has worked in both company and agency levels, including agency owner, underwriter, customer service, underwriting manager, claims adjuster and marketing positions.
In addition, she has served as an insurance specialist in the Miami Office of the Division of Consumer Services for the State of Florida Department of Insurance, now known as The Department of Financial Services. She is certified by the state as an insurance instructor and has taught agent pre-licensing courses and continuing education courses for agents and adjusters for different institutions, including the Miami Dade College.
She has been a featured speaker at several organizations and insurance associations.
As an insurance agent and her role as marketing representative for different insurance companies, she has always been active in several insurance associations including the Professional Insurance Agents, the Independents Agents, the Specialty Agents Association and the Latin American Association of Insurance Agents. She is also Past President for the Professional Association of Latin Insurance Women.
Amy Castro has a reputation of always helping people to understand insurance by training them in the different areas. She is well known for her patience and attention to detail while teaching and training people in the insurance industry.
